Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Liuweianxiao is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation primarily used for the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders, including functional dyspepsia and constipation. It is a multi-herb combination composed of six main ingredients: *Terminalia chebula*, *Inula helenium*, *Rheum palmatum*, *Kaempferia galanga*, *Mirabilite* (sodium sulfate), and *Zingiber officinale*. The formulation is designed to harmonize the stomach, promote digestion, and regulate bowel movements. It acts by enhancing gastrointestinal motility, regulating gastric acid secretion, and modulating the gut microbiota. In clinical research, it has been investigated for its efficacy in relieving symptoms of functional constipation, particularly in specific patient populations such as those with Parkinson's disease.
