Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LIVASTEP-M-KID is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product marketed by Varmed Pharma, specifically designed for pediatric use. It combines levocetirizine, a second-generation H1-antihistamine, with montelukast, a cysteinyl leukotriene receptor antagonist (LTRA). Levocetirizine provides relief from allergic symptoms by selectively inhibiting peripheral H1 receptors, while montelukast blocks the CysLT1 receptor to prevent leukotriene-mediated airway inflammation and bronchoconstriction. This combination is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis and as an adjunctive therapy for asthma and other allergic airway diseases in children.
