Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The live-attenuated dengue virus 3 monovalent vaccine (specifically strain rDEN3Δ30/31-7164) is an investigational prophylactic vaccine developed by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). It is derived from the wild-type DENV-3 Sleman/78 virus and contains 30 and 31 non-contiguous nucleotide deletions in the 3' untranslated region (UTR) for attenuation, along with a Vero cell adaptation mutation in the NS4B gene (position 7164, Val→Ala). This monovalent vaccine is designed to elicit protective neutralizing antibodies and cellular immune responses against dengue virus serotype 3. It is also utilized as a component of the investigational tetravalent dengue vaccine TV003 and as a controlled human challenge model to study primary, secondary, and tertiary dengue immune responses.
