Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Live attenuated monovalent DENV3 vaccine (specifically the rDEN3Δ30/31-7164 strain) is a vaccine candidate developed by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) for the prevention of dengue virus serotype 3 infection. It is derived from the wild-type DENV-3 Sleman/78 virus and contains a 30-nucleotide deletion (Δ30) and a 31-nucleotide deletion (Δ31) in the 3' untranslated region (UTR) for attenuation, along with a Vero cell adaptation mutation at nucleotide position 7164 (NS4B Val→Ala). The vaccine is designed to elicit a robust neutralizing antibody and T-cell response against DENV-3. It is also utilized as a component of the tetravalent dengue vaccine candidates TV003 and TV005, and has been evaluated in clinical trials to study the effects of pre-existing dengue immunity on subsequent vaccination responses.
