Combination of a **live attenuated varicella vaccine** (commonly known as Varivax, containing Oka or Oka/Merck strain of varicella-zoster virus) and a **trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine** (TIV, which covers three strains of influenza virus: typically two influenza A and one influenza B subtype). This combination is not manufactured as a pre-formulated fixed-combination commercial product but describes the concurrent administration of these two separate vaccines. The varicella vaccine induces active immunity by replication of attenuated virus, stimulating both humoral and cellular immune responses for protection against varicella (chickenpox). The trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine contains inactivated (killed) influenza virus antigens and stimulates the immune system to generate protective antibodies against influenza infection. The combination may be administered in clinical settings to confer simultaneous protection against both diseases according to recommended immunization schedules[5][6][8][10].
