Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bacillus viable particles (specifically referring to live *Bacillus licheniformis* granules, marketed under the brand name Zhengchangsheng) is a live biotherapeutic probiotic preparation containing live *Bacillus licheniformis* (strain CMCC63516). It is widely used in China to treat and prevent gastrointestinal disorders associated with gut microbiota dysbiosis, such as acute and chronic diarrhea, abdominal bloating, indigestion, and antibiotic-associated diarrhea (AAD). Upon oral administration, *Bacillus licheniformis* spores germinate in the intestinal tract, consuming oxygen to create an anaerobic environment that promotes the growth of beneficial anaerobic bacteria (such as *Bifidobacterium* and *Lactobacillus*) while antagonizing pathogenic bacteria. It also secretes antibacterial substances and active enzymes to help restore intestinal homeostasis and maintain mucosal barrier integrity.
