Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The Liver Function Contrast Agent is a radiopharmaceutical imaging tracer developed by the National Atomic Research Institute (NARI) for nuclear medicine applications. It is specifically designed to assess regional liver function and functional reserve in patients with liver cancer, particularly those with underlying chronic hepatitis or cirrhosis, prior to surgical resection or other therapeutic interventions. By providing a visual and quantitative map of hepatocyte activity, the agent allows for a more precise evaluation of liver health than conventional biochemical blood tests. It is administered intravenously and is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
