Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LivFree is a non-abrasive dental gel developed by Livionex designed to disrupt dental plaque biofilm and improve gingival health. The product utilizes a proprietary technology centered on metal ion sequestration, specifically using edetate disodium (EDTA) to chelate calcium ions in the oral environment. These calcium ions are essential for the structural integrity of the extracellular polymeric substance (EPS) matrix and for the initial attachment of bacteria to the tooth surface. By disrupting these ionic bonds, LivFree interferes with the formation and stability of dental plaque without the use of abrasives or detergents. It is typically marketed as a fluoride-free and dye-free version of the Livionex dental gel technology.
