Livmoniplimab is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the cell surface protein GARP (glycoprotein A repetitions predominant, also known as LRRC32), which acts as an activator of transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta). It is being developed primarily for the treatment of advanced cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), urothelial carcinoma, and other solid tumors. Livmoniplimab functions by inhibiting TGF-beta signaling in the tumor microenvironment, thereby enhancing anti-tumor immune responses. The drug is often studied in combination with budigalimab (ABBV-181), a PD-1 inhibitor, to further augment immunotherapeutic effects. Livmoniplimab was originally discovered by Catholic University of Louvain and Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research and is currently being developed by AbbVie[2][3][4][6].
