Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Livodinol is a hepatoprotective nutraceutical formulation developed by NutriMed Group, designed to support liver function and detoxification. It contains a synergistic combination of ademetionine (S-adenosyl-L-methionine), L-glutathione, and silymarin. Ademetionine acts as a key methyl donor and a precursor to glutathione, essential for maintaining hepatocyte membrane fluidity and metabolic processes. L-glutathione serves as a primary endogenous antioxidant, neutralizing reactive oxygen species and facilitating the conjugation and excretion of toxins. Silymarin, a mixture of flavonolignans from milk thistle, provides additional antioxidant support, stabilizes cell membranes to prevent toxin entry, and stimulates RNA polymerase I to promote protein synthesis and liver tissue regeneration. Livodinol is used as a supportive treatment for chronic hepatitis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), cirrhosis, and toxic liver damage.
