Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lixuesheng + Bolten is a combination therapy comprising a plant extract complex (Lixuesheng) and a whey-derived lactoferrin supplement (Bolten). Lixuesheng is a name traditionally associated with hematopoietic stimulants in China, used to treat leukopenia and promote the recovery of white blood cell counts; in this specific formulation, it is described as a botanical complex. Bolten is a brand of whey lactoferrin, a multifunctional protein with immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and iron-binding properties. This combination is currently being investigated in Phase II clinical trials (e.g., ChiCTR2000039302) for its potential to mitigate chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression in patients with lung cancer. The study aims to determine if the synergistic effects of these components can improve hematological parameters, reduce the incidence of infections, and enhance the overall quality of life for patients undergoing cytotoxic chemotherapy.
