Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LJ01003 is a novel potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) developed by Changchun Lajiang Pharmaceutical Technology for the treatment of acid-related disorders, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), heartburn, and acid regurgitation. As a P-CAB, LJ01003 functions by reversibly and competitively inhibiting the gastric H+/K+-ATPase enzyme (the proton pump) in the parietal cells of the stomach. Unlike conventional proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), which are prodrugs requiring acid activation and bind irreversibly to the pump, LJ01003 provides rapid, potent, and sustained acid suppression that is independent of food intake. The drug is currently being evaluated in clinical trials to assess its efficacy in providing relief from symptoms such as heartburn and in the healing of erosive esophagitis.
