Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LK-01 is an investigational cell therapy developed by LiveKidney.Bio, consisting of umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (UC-MSCs) encapsulated in a proprietary, cell-shielding hydrogel formulation. Administered via subcutaneous injection, the therapy is designed to provide a continuous, sustained release of therapeutic bioactive compounds and immunomodulatory factors. LK-01 aims to address the hallmarks of aging and autoimmune disease by modulating the immune system, reducing inflammation and fibrosis, and enhancing mitochondrial activity to improve kidney function. It is primarily being developed for autoimmune-related kidney diseases, including lupus nephritis and IgA nephropathy, as well as systemic conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and systemic sclerosis.
