LLE-aCD371 is specifically engineered with a targeting moiety against CD371 (CLEC12A), a cell surface marker highly expressed on AML blasts and leukemic stem cells (LSCs) but absent on healthy hematopoietic stem cells. By targeting CD371, the drug aims to deliver its therapeutic payload—typically mRNA—directly to malignant cells, thereby inducing apoptosis or inhibiting cell growth while sparing healthy bone marrow. This approach is intended to address the high relapse rates in AML by eliminating the reservoir of leukemic stem cells.
