**LLP2A-alendronate** is an investigational bone-targeting peptide-drug conjugate that covalently links LLP2A, a peptidomimetic ligand for activated integrin alpha-4/beta-1 on mesenchymal stem cells, to the bone-seeking bisphosphonate alendronate. The conjugate is designed to recruit endogenous or transplanted mesenchymal stem cells to bone surfaces, where they can differentiate toward osteoblasts and enhance bone formation and repair. It originated at the University of California, Davis and was licensed to RABOME; development has included an intravenous Phase 1 study in glucocorticoid-associated osteopenia and a Phase 2 study of RAB001 in steroid-induced early-stage osteonecrosis of the femoral head.
