Overview
LLT-I1 is a sustained-release, drug-eluting contact lens being developed by MediPrint Ophthalmics for the treatment of post-cataract inflammation and pain. The product utilizes a proprietary 3D printing technology to incorporate the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) bromfenac into a hydrogel contact lens. This delivery system is designed to provide continuous, controlled release of the medication to the ocular surface, potentially improving therapeutic efficacy and patient compliance compared to conventional topical eye drops, which often suffer from poor adherence and rapid clearance. LLT-I1 is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
