Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LM007 is a third-generation, long-acting recombinant activated Factor VII (FVIIa) therapeutic being developed by LeaderMed Group in collaboration with Combiphar and OPKO Health. It utilizes OPKO's proprietary C-terminal peptide (CTP) technology, which involves the attachment of the C-terminal peptide of the beta subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) to the FVIIa molecule. This modification significantly extends the circulatory half-life of the protein without the use of PEGylation, polymers, or nanoparticles, potentially allowing for less frequent dosing compared to standard FVIIa products. LM007 is designed to promote hemostasis in patients with Hemophilia A or B, particularly those who have developed inhibitors, and for the management of intraoperative hemorrhage. It works by bypassing the intrinsic coagulation pathway to directly activate Coagulation factor X on the surface of activated platelets, thereby triggering the thrombin burst required for effective clot formation.
