Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LMA.CAR-T is a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell immunotherapy developed by HaemaLogiX. It is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of multiple myeloma and AL amyloidosis. This therapy involves genetically modifying a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that specifically recognizes and binds to the lambda myeloma antigen (LMA), which is expressed on cancerous plasma cells. Upon binding, the engineered T cells are activated to target and destroy these LMA-positive cancer cells. HaemaLogiX is an Australian biotech company focused on developing novel immunotherapies for blood cancers and B-cell disorders.
