Overview

LMB-9 is a recombinant disulfide-stabilized anti-Lewis Y IgG immunotoxin. It consists of an antibody that specifically targets the Lewis Y antigen, which is commonly expressed on the surface of certain tumor cells, conjugated to a 38 kDa toxic element derived from *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* exotoxin A. The mechanism of action involves binding to Lewis Y-positive tumor cells and delivering the toxin intracellularly, leading to cell death. LMB-9 has been investigated primarily for its potential in treating advanced adenocarcinomas such as those of the colon, rectum, pancreas, and esophagus.
