Overview

LMG324 is a long-acting monoclonal antibody that acts as an inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A). It was developed by Alcon for the treatment of neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The drug was designed to be administered via intravitreal injection and aimed to reduce abnormal blood vessel growth and leakage in the retina by blocking VEGF-A activity. Clinical development reached phase 1/2 trials but was discontinued before approval[2][3][4][5].
