LMP2-loaded dendritic cell vaccine is an autologous cellular immunotherapy designed to treat Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-positive lymphomas, including Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Developed by Dr. David Rizzieri at Duke University, the vaccine consists of a patient's own dendritic cells that have been loaded with the EBV latent membrane protein 2 (LMP2) antigen. This approach aims to prime the immune system to recognize and destroy tumor cells expressing EBV proteins, particularly in patients who have undergone autologous stem cell transplantation. In clinical studies, the vaccine is often co-administered with DUK-CPG-001, a Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist that serves as an adjuvant to enhance the vaccine's immunogenicity and the resulting T-cell response.
