lnc-HOST2 siRNA is a synthetic small interfering RNA (siRNA) molecule specifically designed to target and silence the long non-coding RNA known as HOST2 (Hepatocellular carcinoma upregulated long non-coding RNA 2). As an siRNA, it operates via the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, where it binds with high specificity to complementary sequences in the target lnc-HOST2 transcript. This binding leads to recruitment of the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), resulting in cleavage and degradation of the target lnc-RNA, thereby reducing its expression within cells. The primary mechanism is post-transcriptional gene silencing through mRNA degradation[6]. Such targeted knockdown approaches are widely used in research settings for functional genomics studies and may have potential therapeutic applications if delivered effectively into relevant tissues or disease models[1][6]. There is no evidence that "lnc-HOST2 siRNA" has been developed by a specific pharmaceutical company or advanced into clinical trials.
