LNC-TNFalpha oligonucleotide is an experimental therapeutic formulation consisting of a lipid nanocapsule (LNC) delivery system loaded with an oligonucleotide, typically a small interfering RNA (siRNA), designed to silence the expression of Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-α). The LNC platform, characterized by a lipophilic core and a surfactant shell, provides a stable environment for the fragile genetic material, protecting it from nuclease-mediated degradation and facilitating intracellular delivery. By targeting the mRNA of TNF-α, the drug inhibits the production of this key pro-inflammatory cytokine, which plays a central role in the pathogenesis of various autoimmune and inflammatory disorders.
