Overview

LNO-201 is a transdermal patch formulation of buprenorphine being developed by Linno Pharmaceuticals (also known as Lingnuo Pharmaceuticals) for the treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD). The product candidate utilizes a proprietary transdermal drug delivery system (TDDS) designed to provide sustained and controlled release of the active ingredient over an extended period. Buprenorphine, the likely active pharmaceutical ingredient, acts as a partial agonist at the mu-opioid receptor and an antagonist at the kappa-opioid receptor, which helps to mitigate withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings in patients with opioid dependence. By delivering the medication transdermally, LNO-201 aims to improve patient adherence and maintain stable therapeutic plasma concentrations compared to traditional sublingual or injectable administration routes. As of early 2024, the program is in the preclinical stage of development.
