The LNP-LinearDNA canine cancer vaccine is a therapeutic DNA-based immunotherapy designed for the treatment of canine B-cell lymphoma. Developed by Applied DNA Sciences through its subsidiary LineaRx in partnership with EvviVax, the vaccine utilizes a proprietary cell-free, polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based manufacturing platform called LinearDNA. This platform produces high-fidelity DNA sequences encoding the telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) protein, a biological target often overexpressed in malignant cells. The vaccine is encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), which facilitates delivery into cells via intramuscular administration without the requirement for electroporation. By delivering the genetic sequence for TERT, the vaccine aims to stimulate the dog's immune system to recognize and eliminate TERT-expressing cancer cells, potentially improving survival outcomes in advanced stages of lymphoma.
