Overview

LNP1955 is a novel, potent, and selective small molecule inhibitor of Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue Lymphoma Translocation Protein 1 (MALT1), developed by Lupin Limited. MALT1 is a paracaspase that plays a critical role in the NF-κB signaling pathway, functioning as a key component of the CARMA1-BCL10-MALT1 (CBM) complex. This complex is essential for mediating immune responses following antigen receptor stimulation in T and B cells. By inhibiting the proteolytic activity of MALT1, LNP1955 aims to suppress the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, thereby providing a potential therapeutic benefit for chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis. The drug has been evaluated in a Phase 1 first-in-human study to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers.
