LNR2 is a monoclonal antibody that serves as an IgG isotype control, developed by Abeome Corporation (now Lanier Biotherapeutics). It is used in preclinical research as a negative control to evaluate the efficacy and specificity of therapeutic antibodies, such as the anti-IL-25 antibody LNR125. As an isotype control, LNR2 shares the same immunoglobulin class and subclass as the test antibody but lacks a specific target antigen. This allows researchers to differentiate between the specific neutralizing effects of a drug candidate and non-specific biological responses, such as Fc receptor binding or general protein administration effects. In studies of asthma and respiratory viral infections (including rhinovirus and coronavirus), LNR2 is administered to provide a baseline for inflammatory markers and viral load measurements.
