Lobaplatin + paclitaxel is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of lobaplatin, a third-generation platinum-based antineoplastic agent, and paclitaxel, a microtubule-stabilizing agent. Lobaplatin exerts its cytotoxic effect by forming DNA crosslinks that inhibit DNA replication and transcription, leading to apoptosis in rapidly dividing tumor cells. Paclitaxel stabilizes microtubules and prevents their depolymerization during cell division, resulting in mitotic arrest and subsequent cell death. This combination has been investigated primarily as first-line chemotherapy for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and advanced gastric cancer. Clinical studies have shown significant antitumor activity with manageable toxicities such as leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, mild gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea/vomiting), hepatotoxicity, and minimal nephrotoxicity[1][2][4]. The regimen may also be used in the context of chemoradiotherapy or hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) for certain cancers.
