Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination of local anesthetic, epinephrine, morphine, and Surgicel used in surgical procedures. The local anesthetic (commonly bupivacaine or lidocaine) provides pain control, epinephrine extends the duration of anesthesia and reduces bleeding through vasoconstriction, morphine offers extended postoperative analgesia, and Surgicel serves as a hemostatic agent to control bleeding. This combination is used to provide preemptive analgesia, reduce blood loss, and decrease the need for rescue narcotics in the postoperative period.
