Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lodivikar is a combination pharmaceutical drug comprising olmesartan and S-amlodipine. Olmesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that works by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to its AT1 receptors, leading to vasodilation and a reduction in blood pressure. S-amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB) that inhibits the transmembrane influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle cells, thereby causing vasodilation and lowering blood pressure. This combination is primarily used for the treatment of hypertension and angina.
