Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Logidruf-S is a topical combination formulation containing coal tar (4.25% w/v) and salicylic acid (2% w/v). Developed by Canixa Life Sciences, it is indicated for the treatment of hyperproliferative and inflammatory scalp and skin conditions, including psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, and dandruff. Coal tar acts as a keratoplastic agent that slows down the rapid proliferation of epidermal keratinocytes, primarily through the activation of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) and subsequent suppression of DNA synthesis. Salicylic acid serves as a keratolytic agent that softens and exfoliates the outer layer of the skin, facilitating the removal of scales and plaques. Together, these active ingredients work synergistically to reduce scaling, flaking, itching, and inflammation of the scalp.
