Loma001

Loma001 is a preclinical-stage therapeutic vaccine developed by Loma Therapeutics for the treatment of HPV16-associated cancers and pre-cancerous infections. It utilizes a replication-deficient adenoviral vector to deliver four full-length HPV16 antigens (E1, E2, E6, and E7) along with a genetic adjuvant. This approach is designed to trigger a robust and broad immune response, specifically activating anti-HPV cytotoxic CD8+ and CD4+ T cells. Unlike many other HPV vaccines that focus only on the E6 and E7 oncogenes, Loma001 targets antigens expressed throughout the viral life cycle, potentially offering enhanced efficacy against both established tumors and persistent infections. Initial development focuses on HPV-positive oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC), with broader applications in cervical, anal, penile, vaginal, and vulvar cancers.
