Overview

LONG-001 is a preclinical gene therapy candidate developed by Longaevus Technologies for the treatment of age-related inflammatory diseases, including psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis. The therapy utilizes a lentiviral vector to deliver short hairpin RNA (shRNA) designed to inhibit a specific gene target identified through a screen of over 700 genes. This target plays a critical role in the inflammatory cascade triggered by the accumulation of DNA damage associated with cellular aging. By knocking down the activity of this gene, LONG-001 aims to suppress chronic inflammation and exert a rejuvenating effect on aged human cells, particularly primary skin fibroblasts.
