Overview

Long-acting monoclonal antibodies (LAAbs) developed by RQ Biotechnology are designed for the prophylactic prevention of seasonal influenza A, particularly in vulnerable populations such as the immunocompromised and the elderly. These antibodies target highly conserved, invariant epitopes on the influenza A hemagglutinin (HA) protein, which are less prone to the mutations that typically drive seasonal variation and vaccine escape. By binding to these conserved regions, the LAAbs provide broad-spectrum neutralization across diverse influenza A strains and block viral entry into host cells. The long-acting formulation is intended to provide immediate and sustained protection (potentially once-yearly) through passive immunization, bypassing the requirement for a robust active immune response from the patient.
