Longqing is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation, typically administered as Longqing tablets (Longqing Pian), used for the treatment and prevention of urinary tract infections (UTIs). It is an approved Chinese patent medicine (Zhongchengyao) based on the traditional Ba Zheng San formula, which is intended to clear heat, detoxify, and promote diuresis. The drug is indicated for acute uncomplicated lower UTIs and is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for the prevention of UTIs in patients with indwelling ureteral stents following lithotripsy for renal and ureteral calculi. These clinical studies are primarily led by the Department of Urology at Tongji Hospital, Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
