Longya Guanxinkang

Longya Guanxinkang is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) pharmaceutical developed by the Jilin Province Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, primarily indicated for the treatment of coronary heart disease and angina pectoris. The drug's active component consists of total saponins extracted from *Aralia elata* (Seem.), a medicinal plant native to Northeast China known locally as Longya Congmu. Mechanistically, Longya Guanxinkang exerts cardioprotective effects by improving myocardial ischemia, reducing myocardial oxygen consumption, and inhibiting platelet aggregation. It is particularly used for patients diagnosed with the TCM pattern of Qi deficiency and blood stasis. Clinical and preclinical studies have indicated its ability to stabilize cardiomyocyte membranes and reduce the release of cardiac enzymes such as creatine kinase and lactate dehydrogenase during ischemic stress, thereby preserving cardiac function and reducing infarct size.
