Longyi Zhengqi Fang (also known as Longyi-Zhengqi Formula) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal compound developed by Longhua Hospital, affiliated with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Formulated based on the principle of strengthening the body's resistance to eliminate pathogenic factors, it is intended for the prevention and treatment of respiratory infectious diseases, specifically COVID-19 (new coronavirus pneumonia). Network pharmacology studies suggest the formula targets multiple pathways, notably regulating the inflammatory cytokine Interleukin-6 (IL-6) to mitigate the cytokine storm associated with severe viral infections. As a botanical mixture, it contains multiple active herbal components.
