Overview
Loquat Qingfei decoction granule (also known as Pipa Qingfei granules) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound preparation derived from the ancient classic formula 'Pipa Qingfei Decoction' (枇杷清肺饮) from the Qing Dynasty's *Golden Mirror of Medicine* (*Yi Zong Jin Jian*). It is composed of six main herbal ingredients: loquat leaf (Folium Eriobotryae), mulberry bark (Cortex Mori), coptis rhizome (Rhizoma Coptidis), amur cork tree bark (Cortex Phellodendri), ginseng (Radix Ginseng), and licorice (Radix Glycyrrhizae). The formulation is primarily developed for clearing lung heat and is indicated for the treatment of acne vulgaris (specifically the lung-heat/wind-heat pattern) and seborrheic dermatitis. It has been approved for marketing in China as a Category 3.1 innovative TCM.
