Lorop-P

Lorop-P is a fixed-dose combination analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication marketed by Makshi Healthcare. It contains lornoxicam, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the oxicam class, and paracetamol (acetaminophen), a widely used analgesic and antipyretic. Lornoxicam acts as a potent inhibitor of both cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins that mediate pain, fever, and inflammation. Paracetamol provides synergistic pain relief and fever reduction, primarily through the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis within the central nervous system. This combination is indicated for the management of acute mild-to-moderate pain and inflammatory conditions such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
