Losartan + atorvastatin

Losartan + atorvastatin is a fixed-dose combination of two small molecule drugs used to treat patients with both hypertension and hypercholesterolemia. Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that lowers blood pressure by blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the type 1 angiotensin II receptor, resulting in vasodilation. Atorvastatin is a statin that inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, reducing cholesterol synthesis in the liver and lowering blood lipid levels.
