Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anreb Plus is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product containing losartan potassium and hydrochlorothiazide. Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, resulting in vasodilation and decreased aldosterone levels. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that acts on the distal convoluted tubule to inhibit sodium and chloride reabsorption, leading to increased diuresis and reduced blood volume. Developed and manufactured by General Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Anreb Plus is indicated for the management of hypertension, particularly in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy.
