Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lotivibart + cabotegravir is an investigational, ultra-long-acting combination regimen being developed by ViiV Healthcare for the treatment of HIV-1 infection. The regimen combines lotivibart (also known as N6LS or VH3810109), a second-generation broadly neutralizing antibody (bNAb) that targets the CD4 binding site on the HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein gp120, with cabotegravir, a small-molecule integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI). In the Phase IIb EMBRACE trial, the combination is evaluated as a long-acting maintenance therapy in virologically suppressed adults, with lotivibart administered intravenously or subcutaneously every 4 to 6 months and cabotegravir administered intramuscularly every 1 to 2 months. This dual-modality approach aims to provide a highly effective, ultra-long-acting treatment option with a high genetic barrier to resistance.
