Lovol-esse

Lovol-esse is an oral, low-volume polyethylene glycol-based bowel-cleansing preparation used to empty the intestine prior to colonoscopy or other diagnostic procedures. It contains macrogol 4000 (polyethylene glycol 4000) combined with citric acid, sodium citrate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and simethicone, formulated as an isosmotic powder for solution that promotes osmotic water retention in the intestinal lumen to induce laxation while simethicone reduces gas and bloating to improve tolerability. Developed and marketed by Alfasigma (originally by Promefarm in some studies), the product is administered in split doses from four sachets dissolved in water to achieve effective colon cleansing with reduced total volume compared with standard 4‑L PEG regimens.
