Overview

Guna-FGF is a low-dose medicinal formulation developed by Guna S.p.a. as part of its Physiological Regulating Medicine (PRM) portfolio. It contains a low-dose (homeopathic) concentration of fibroblast growth factor beta (FGF-β), also known as basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF or FGF2), prepared using Sequential Kinetic Activation (SKA) technology. This technology is intended to maintain the biological activity of the signaling molecule at extremely low concentrations. The primary mechanism of action involves the modulation of fibroblast growth factor receptors to stimulate melanocyte proliferation and migration, which is particularly relevant for the treatment of vitiligo. Additionally, it is being investigated for its potential to reduce oxidative stress and injury in skin models of psoriasis. The product is currently in the preclinical stage of development for these dermatological indications.
