Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Low Dose Midomafetamine HCl is an investigational small molecule formulation of midomafetamine (3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine, or MDMA) developed by Resilient Pharmaceuticals (formerly Lykos Therapeutics and MAPS Public Benefit Corporation). It is administered orally as a low-dose active placebo/comparator (typically an initial dose of 25 mg or 30 mg followed by a supplemental half-dose) in clinical trials evaluating MDMA-assisted psychotherapy. Midomafetamine acts as a monoamine releaser and reuptake inhibitor, targeting the serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine transporters, as well as trace amine-associated receptor 1 (TAAR1) and various serotonin receptors. This low-dose formulation is primarily studied for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), including war- and terrorism-related PTSD, to provide a physiological active control that helps maintain blinding in clinical trials.
