Overview

LOXL2 siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of Lysyl Oxidase-Like 2 (LOXL2). LOXL2 is an enzyme involved in the cross-linking of collagen in the extracellular matrix, which is often upregulated in various cancers and associated with fibrosis and metastasis. In the context of pancreatic cancer research, specifically studies conducted at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, silencing LOXL2 using RNA interference was found to unexpectedly increase tumor growth and metastasis in syngeneic orthotopic mouse models, suggesting that LOXL2 may have complex roles in the tumor microenvironment that differ across cancer types.
