Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LOY-002 is an investigational veterinary small molecule drug candidate being developed by Loyal to extend the healthy lifespan and preserve the quality of life of senior dogs. Formulated as a daily, flavored oral tablet, the drug is designed for dogs aged 10 years or older and weighing at least 14 pounds. LOY-002 targets age-related metabolic dysfunction by improving insulin sensitivity and lowering circulating insulin levels. The active pharmaceutical ingredient and precise molecular target remain confidential. The drug is currently being evaluated in the STAY study, a large-scale, pivotal clinical trial, and has received FDA acceptance for both the Reasonable Expectation of Effectiveness (RXE) and Target Animal Safety (TAS) technical sections of its Expanded Conditional Approval application.
