LOYON

**LOYON** is a topical dimethicone-based medical device developed and manufactured by G. Pohl-Boskamp for removal of adherent scale in scalp psoriasis. The solution contains dimethicone and dicaprylyl carbonate and acts through a non-pharmacological physical mechanism: it penetrates beneath scales, reduces their adherence to the underlying skin, and facilitates gentle lifting and removal. It is not a conventional salicylic acid or urea keratolytic and has no intended molecular target or pharmacological action. The product was evaluated as Loion in a randomized, active-controlled, observer-blinded Phase 2 study in chronic psoriasis capitis.
