Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lozivate-S is a topical combination therapy developed by Canixa Life Sciences for the management of inflammatory and hyperkeratotic skin conditions, such as plaque psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis. It is formulated as an ointment or lotion containing clobetasol propionate (0.05% w/w), a superpotent Class I topical corticosteroid, and salicylic acid (6% w/w), a keratolytic agent. Clobetasol propionate acts as a glucocorticoid receptor agonist to suppress the production of inflammatory mediators, thereby reducing redness, swelling, and itching. Salicylic acid acts as a keratolytic agent by dissolving the intercellular cement that holds skin cells together, promoting the shedding of dead skin scales and enhancing the penetration of clobetasol propionate into the affected skin layers.
