Overview
LP-002 is a long-acting recombinant fusion protein composed of human growth hormone (GH) fused to an immunoglobulin Fc fragment. Developed by LongDAC (also known as LongBio), the drug is designed to treat Growth Hormone Deficiency (GHD) by binding to and activating the growth hormone receptor (GHR). The Fc fusion technology significantly extends the protein's circulatory half-life, enabling a dosing schedule of once every two to four weeks (Q2W-Q4W). This profile offers a potential therapeutic advantage over conventional daily growth hormone injections by reducing treatment burden and improving patient compliance. LP-002 is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials.
